20 for the Next 20: Tiffani Hull, Corteva Agriscience – A Leader in Giving Back
As a Kaua‘i native, Tiffani Hull has always been driven by a sense of community and a desire to make a positive impact. With a background in biology and a career spanning over 15 years at Corteva Agriscience, Hull has established herself as a leader in her field while also dedicating herself to giving back to her community.
A Passion for Giving Back
“I believe that giving back is essential, especially in our community,” Hull says, reflecting on her extensive experience in volunteering and engaging with the community. “It’s important to see the impact it has on those around us, and it’s a way for me to make a difference.”
Early Beginnings
Hull’s love for her community began at a young age. Raised in south Kaua‘i, she attended Kamehameha Schools Kapālama, where her son is currently a student. Her educational journey continued at the University of San Francisco, where she earned a degree in biology. After graduating, Hull returned to Kaua‘i, where she found a career that allowed her to stay close to her roots.
A Career in Agriculture
Hull began her professional career at Corteva Agriscience’s Waimea facility in 2006. Starting as a young professional, Hull was drawn to the company’s mission to produce conventional and genetically modified corn seeds that help farmers worldwide overcome the challenges of drought, disease, pests, and more. Over the years, Hull has risen through the ranks, leading the Waimea Global Genotyping Laboratory and working closely with a team of scientists to develop innovative solutions.
Innovative Work and Leadership
Hull’s work at Corteva Agriscience is anything but routine. “We work with a lot of robotics, and there’s always some kind of new equipment coming in that we get to learn about, so it’s not boring. You’re always learning something new,” Hull says, enthusiasm evident in her voice. Her leadership skills have earned her recognition from colleagues, who praise her ability to guide and support her team.
Volunteering and Community Involvement
In addition to her work at Corteva Agriscience, Hull has become increasingly involved in volunteering, including with the company’s Relay for Life team, which raises money for the American Cancer Society. As a captain of the team, Hull has played a key role in organizing events and advocating for the cause. Hull’s commitment to giving back has also led her to become involved with Kaua‘i United Way, where she serves as the chair of its fundraising campaign.
A Leader in Her Community
Hull’s volunteer work extends beyond her professional and personal life. She has spent time on the board of the Kaua‘i Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce and has even led her son’s Boy Scout troop when no one else was available. “I don’t know anything about Boy Scouts, obviously, and I wasn’t even a Girl Scout. That was something that I just did because I wanted it to be an opportunity for the boys to have, and I did my best,” Hull says with a laugh.
Impact and Legacy
Tiffani Hull is an exemplary example of a leader who is dedicated to making a positive impact in her community. Through her work at Corteva Agriscience and her numerous volunteer initiatives, Hull is leaving a lasting legacy that extends far beyond her own accomplishments. As we celebrate her as one of the top 20 for the next 20, we are reminded of the importance of leadership, community involvement, and dedication to giving back.
