Let’s take a step back in time. More than two decades ago, my partner and I bravely ventured down the steep, slippery trail to Hideaway Beach. The hike was a challenging one, leaving us with scrapes and bruises. To be honest, it was a bit of a frightening experience. Despite the risk, the small, secluded beach was still worth the effort. However, we couldn’t help but wonder if the risk was worth the reward.

The Trail Today

Fast-forward to the present, and we’re excited to share that the trail has undergone significant improvements. A recent video showcases the new dirt stair steps carved out of the cliffside and rope handrails. While the trail is still not without risk, especially after rain, these improvements make it more accessible and safer for hikers.
