Quick Facts

The Weather in Hawaii in February

February may be winter in the Northern Hemisphere, but the weather in Hawaii is still pleasant and warm. Daytime temperatures usually reach the mid-70s to mid-80s Fahrenheit (around 23-30°C), while nighttime temperatures dip to the mid-60s to mid-70s Fahrenheit (around 18-23°C). Kauai tends to be a couple of degrees cooler than the other islands.

While February is not the rainiest month, there’s still some rainfall, which can add to the lush green scenery and create opportunities for waterfalls and ocean activities. Don’t let the occasional rain showers deter you, though – lightweight, quick-drying clothing and shoes, as well as a breathable, waterproof rain jacket or umbrella, will keep you comfortable and prepared.

What to Pack for a February Hawaii Vacation

When packing for your February trip, remember that warm, tropical weather is around the corner. You’ll want to bring:

  • Quick-drying shirts, shorts, and trousers for sightseeing adventures
  • Comfortable walking or trail trekking shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy
  • Light sweater for chilly evenings after sunset
  • Swimsuits and cover-ups for beach activities
  • Breathable, waterproof rain jacket or umbrella (just in case!)

Hawaii Ocean Conditions in February

February is an excellent time for ocean activities, including snorkeling, swimming, and surfing. However, remember to respect the power of the ocean and always prioritize your safety. Enjoy the moderate waves and ocean conditions, but be cautious of strong currents and rip tides.

Special Events and Celebrations in February

From cultural festivals to romantic holidays, there’s always something fun happening in the Hawaiian Islands. Here are some events and celebrations to look forward to in February:
