What type of home do I want to live in? How much time will I spend at this property per week? These are some of the questions you ask yourself when planning to buy a home! We summarize some things you need to ask yourself before buying a property.

1. What are the schools like in your area

2. How far is it to work from home

3. Is there a library or bookstore near you

4. What are the crime rates in the neighborhood

5. Are there any parks nearby for children to play at 

6. Is there an airport close by where I can fly out of if I need to go somewhere quickly.

7. What is the property’s proximity to a public beach, golf course, or other amenities

Who is the developer? If you’re looking for a reputable company, look for one that has been around the block. Make sure they have an excellent track record and plenty of experience building homes on Maui. What makes this project unique? You want something special; what sets it apart from all other projects out there? Is it location, design, or amenities like pools and spas? How many units are available? The fewer units on sale at any given time, the better chance your offer will be accepted. Be patient though; good things come to those who wait! Does my purchase qualify me for rental income while I am not using the unit myself?
